The TRIANGLE project has developed a framework to help app developers and device manufacturers in the evolving 5G sector to test and benchmark new mobile applications, devices, and services utilizing existing and extended FIRE testbeds. This framework will evaluate Quality of Experience – QoE of new mobile applications, services and devices designed to operate in the future 5G mobile broadband networks – and enable certification for new mobile applications and devices.

If you are an App developer, you are interested in validating how your app will on a 5G network.  We do not expect you to be a 5G expert, so we have made the system easy to use. By connecting to the TRIANGLE test bed, you will be able to test your own app against a set of predefined scenarios which reflect 5G use cases. The system will give you an aggregated report to say how well the test went. To make it easy, the selection of the scenarios and the set of test are pre-programmed and can be tuned for your application. When you are finished testing you can request a TRIANGLE certification where your app is compared against a set of criteria defined by the TRIANGLE experts. This certification results in a independent evaluation of the performance of your app. How does it work in practice? See it here.
As a device maker, you wish to understand how well your device performs against other devices, running the same application in the same scenario. Is it better? Is it robust? Is it able to tolerate harsh scenarios? The TRIANGLE testbed will allow you to run a pre-specified test or your own test on your device and on a set of reference devices. An aggregated report is generated but allows you can also access individual logs of the test results.

When you feel your device is ready for the ultimate challenge, you can request a TRIANGLE certification where your device is compared against a set of criteria defined by the TRIANGLE experts. This certification results in a independent evaluation of the performance of your device. How does it work in practice? See it here.

As an operator, you often face the requirement to accept new devices and to develop and roll out new services. With IoT, it will be even more important to ensure devices and services work and behave properly in all types of conditions. How will this work in an all-new 5G network with 5G KPIs? The TRIANGLE testbed is the ideal place for operators to test this out. In this fully controlled end-to-end setup, you will be able to experiment with the reliability, latency, service slicing and capability of different configurations. How does it work in practice? See it here.

You register online and select your profile. Online training in using the system is made available to you according to your profile and interest. Once you know what you want to do, you book the time for your experiments. If you need to ship a device for the test, you do this. The testbed can be operated remotely or can be operated on site in the laboratory in Malaga. During the trial period, support is available to help you successfully complete the testing. A high level of automation in the testbed means the tests will run smoothly. Finally, when the tests are completed, you will receive a report. You can choose to get a summary or if you need more detail you can get access to all the logs. In any case, the results are yours and won’t be shared without explicit approval from your end.
